Last Day Reflections

What did you learn about photography that you didn't know before?

-I learned that every picture is beautiful, even if you don't photoshop/ or edit it. All pictures describe feelings about someone or something.

What did you learn about yourself this semester?

-I learned that it's okay to ask for help when you're stuck on something, anyone will help you out. What I'm feeling is expressed in my photos.

What do you wish we had but did not?

-I wish we did a morphing thing with pictures. Like half of someones face morphed with someone else or even lanscaps, like a lake in the middle of a desert. A flower stuck to an ice cream. A spider hanging from the sun.

What was your struggle?

-I struggled with remembering how to photoshop some pictures and turning them into negative or make them into one big panorama.

What did you conquer?

-I conquered asking for help instead of messing up the picture by trying to find it myself.

Light

~ Light ~

 Bracelet 

• Difficulty; Finding the right angle so the light would reflect the words/righting.

Cup 

•   Difficulty: Trying to keep most of the background out of the picture.

Perfume 

• Difficulty: Nothing really, just the glow off the glass. First times a charm.

Robot 

• Difficulty: Getting the little buttons to show up from the flashlight.

 Santa

• Difficulty: Finding the right angle for the light so the outline of the beard would show up.

Monkey

• Difficulty: Getting the monkey to glow without  him blending into the background with his dark color.

Beauty in Photography is expressing something, wether it's the background color or the little drop of water on the edge of a petal, ready to fall.

Characteristics in a Photo are good ability in moving objects, or matching different colors or even conveying what a thousand words cannot.

 There is no such thing as an "ugly" photo. They're all beautiful in every way. What they describe is wonderful and beautiful.

This photo is beautiful because it can describe her hate in taking photos or loss of a loved one. It's not ugly, but beautiful.

☞Alfred Stieglitz ☜

Alfred Stieglitz

Was a American photographer.
Known for New York art galleries that he ran.

This photo is my favorite because it reminds me of the Titanic. Alfred's other photos show hand movements of beauty and gestures.

He was married to Georgia O'Keeffe, the painter.

 They both influenced themselves by the love of beauty, vision, and expression they show in there art.

Brownie Camera

Brownie Camera

A Brownie Camera is a long-running series of simple and expensive cameras. 

Made by Eastman Kodak. Introduced in February, 1900.

Slogan; 'You push the button, we do the rest'.

It changed the world by allowing us to take pictures.

Nicéphore Niépce

Nicéphore is famous for producing the first known photograph.

He was born March 7th and died of a stroke in 1833.

Came from a moderately wealthy family, and pursued many jobs like, military service and teaching.

In 1795 he worked with his brother Claude and came up with an invention called pyreolophore in 1807.

1829 he formed a partnership with Louis-Jacques-Mandé Daguerre to find another way of using the camera obscura and silver salts, which were known to darken when exposed to sunlight. 

He made a rough image in 1816 but then it faded away after.

He never finished what he desired, so Daguerre would continue modifying the technique to photographs, that would soon become the daguerreotype in 1839.

1. Daguerrotype;

• A Daguerrotype:

A photograph taken by an early process employing an iodine-sensitized silvered plate and mercury vapor.

• A Daguerrotype Resembles A Mirror.
• When The Daguerrotype Was Prominent In The 1840s.
• The Daguerrotype Replaced Ambrotype.

2. Albumen (albumen silver print);

•    A Albumen: 

  A piece of paper, usually 100% cotton, is coated with an emulsion of egg white (albumen) and salt (sodium chloride or ammonium chloride), then dried. The albumen seals the paper and creates a slightly glossy surface for the sensitizer to rest on.

• The Main Ingredient In Albumen Photography Is Egg Whites.
• It Died Out In The Late 1850s.

3. Stereograph; 

• A Stereograph:

  Any image that, through one of several techniques, is able to convey the experience of depth perception to the viewer by means of stereopsis for binocular vision.

• Was Popular In 1860.

4.  Carte de Visite;

• A Carte de Visite:

  A small photographic portrait of someone, mounted on a piece of card.

• They Were Used To Make People A Hit In The North Like, Abraham Lincoln, and Ulysses S. Grant.

5. Matthew Brady and Alexander Gardner

• They Were Photographers In The Civil War.
• They Are Notable For Photographic Sketch Book Of The War.
